As Wessex Voices Community Engagement Officer, you will provide support to Wessex Cancer Alliance to enable them to carry out meaningful patient and public involvement. The role will focus on engaging people with health inequalities across communities in Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to listen to their views on health services.

You will be passionate about understanding the needs of people from a wide range of backgrounds. You will establish and maintain positive relationships with communities, charities, organisations and individuals across the region. You will have great communication, networking and people skills that will support us to develop positive relationships with people and organisations from marginalised communities. You will have experience of planning and managing projects that involve people from these backgrounds, reporting on findings and making recommendations to influence others. You will be well-organised and a self-starter who can work effectively across different teams and partners. You will help us promote health engagement opportunities and the outcomes of Wessex Voices’ activities.

This is an exciting and wide-ranging role for someone with the energy and passion to help patients, carers and the public shape health services. The role is new and ready for someone to shape and make their own. If you feel that you can support this project, we would like to hear from you. We welcome applications from people who themselves may have experienced health inequalities or come from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Please note that you need to submit an application form detailing how you meet the person specification criteria. CVs will not be accepted for this role. For more information about this role see our vacancies page
