The charity is founded on Christian principles and the new chair will be a practising Christian.

The Board has 6 members and there are 3 part-time staff, a CEO, Operations Manager and Development Officer.

MARS is also supported by many trained community volunteers who are very committed to young people.

There is a degree of social media presence and website is .

Funding is raised principally from grant making bodies with additional donations from local churches, individuals and fundraising events.

This Christian based charity trains thousands of secondary school students in the key skills to build healthy relationships.

Lively, interactive workshops are currently delivered in Dorset and access to the materials for students has developed over the course of the pandemic with the return to 7 schools this autumn. The delivery of workshops has changed to class sized groups, requiring a different model and volunteer profile.

The Trust has ambitious forward plans to expand across the UK, to reach more young people, of different ages, and vulnerable groups. To facilitate this growth, we are currently developing a brand new scenario based learning initiative and a 6th Form programme.

MARS is looking for someone who is motivated by young peoples’ development, and understands the importance of Relationship Skills and the role of education and training, to manage the Board and work with the CEO. The Board wish to develop the charity within the ever changing world of communication with appropriate risk and governance management.

We are a friendly, collaborative team with aspirations!
