PramaLife Volunteer Co-ordinator

PramaLife have developed this role because we are taking over a project: A Good Life, from a partner charitable organisation: The Community Action Network. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, and the role will be co-ordinating some existing and new volunteering programmes, including:

• Telephone Support Groups, the volunteers facilitate collective phone calls between three to six older people.

• Yours Sincerely, in which young volunteers write to older people.

• Community Connectors, this will be a new project, the co-ordinator working with PramaLife colleagues, will recruit a team of 30 volunteers who in turn will support older people and carers to access the support they need. For example, it could be helping a person to attend a support group following bereavement or helping a person to plan how they can travel to regular hospital appointments.

The co-ordinator will also work with PramaLife colleagues to administer and develop other existing PramaLife volunteering schemes. For example, we recruit volunteers to provide one to one befriending support to older people and carers.

The lottery funding continues until 31 March 2023, but we are fundraising to sustain this role. You will be joining a committed and supportive team, willing to share their learning and expertise.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 15 December 2021, interviews for the role will take place on Tuesday 21 December 2021. Please ask for full JD/PS and details and complete an application form to apply for this role ( available from [email protected])
