  1. About us
  2. Our commitment to quality

Our commitment to quality

We are on a continuing journey to improve and grow.

To support this, we hold National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) Performance Standards and Quality Award to provide shape and direction for our work.

NAVCA is the only national membership body specifically for local sector support and development organisations in England.

The Standards reflect our essential functions and help us to demonstrate how the services we provide make a real difference to our the voluntary and community sector:

  • Standard 1: Development: The organisation supports the identification of needs in the local community and facilitates innovation and improvements in service provision to meet those needs.
  • Standard 2: Support: The organisation supports local voluntary organisations and community groups to fulfil their missions more effectively.
  • Standard 3: Collaboration: The organisation facilitates effective communication and collaboration amongst local voluntary organisations and community groups and between different sectors.
  • Standard 4: Influence: The organisation supports local voluntary organisations and community groups to influence policies, plans and practices that have an impact on their organisations and beneficiaries.

The Award was awarded 1 July 2021 and will last for three years. Overall NAVCA found us to be meeting or have plans in place to meet all the standards, they were very complimentary of our work, saying we were an example of exemplary practice. Consequently, they have asked us to be part of their national working group to further develop
 the Quality Mark.

The awards demonstrate our ability to really make a difference across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

We’re also proud to hold the Disability Confident Employer Award

Disability Confident is creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.

Being Disability Confident is a unique opportunity to lead the way in our community.
