Community Action Network’s Volunteer Fairs are back and will host a number of local organisations seeking volunteers! They are taking place on:

• Monday 7^th March - Eco Hub, 1^st Floor, Dolphin Shopping Centre, Poole, BH15 1SZ, 10am to 1pm
• Wednesday 9^th March - Druitts Hall, High Street, Christchurch, BH23 1AB, 1pm to 4pm
• Friday 11^th March - Footprints Community Hub, 290 Wimborne Road, Winton BH3 7AT 10am to 1pm 

The Volunteer Fairs have been organised to offer individuals information and advice on the range of volunteering opportunities available with local organisations, to raise awareness of the importance of volunteers within our community and to highlight the benefits of being a volunteer.

Different organisations will be attending each Volunteer Fair and include Citizens, Advice Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, The Parks Foundation, British Red Cross, Footprints Project, The Friendly Food Club, PramaLife, Safe and Sound Dorset and many more.

The Volunteer Fairs are open to anyone who is seeking to do something new in 2022, or who want to meet new people, learn new skills, share existing skills and knowledge or gain experience in a new sector.

Many people have also been affected by the Pandemic, through redundancy, poor mental health, loss of routine and so forth. Volunteering is a fantastic way to build confidence and self-esteem, increase wellbeing and gain a sense of satisfaction that you are helping others.

So, whether you’re looking to make your first steps in volunteering, or you’re already an active volunteer and looking to take on a new role, there is something for everyone. You do not need to pre-book, simply come along on the day ready for an informal chat with each of the organisations.

We would like to build on the volunteering ethos that has developed and provide people with opportunities through these Volunteer Fairs, to find out about the crucial work that local organisations do and the ways in which they can continue contributing their time and skills.
