Since summer 2019 a small, dedicated team at Citizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole have been working to support EU & EEA Nationals throughout Dorset to apply for new immigration status under the EU Settlement Scheme.  So far over 2,500 local residents have been assisted to remain within Dorset.

However, the final deadline for applications is 30th June 2021 and applicants must be resident in the UK by 31st December 2020. Citizens Advice BCP is keen to reach more people, particularly those who may be unaware that they need to apply to the scheme. There are many local residents who have lived in the UK for more than 30 years, but still need to apply to the scheme. You may know of European friends or family with children who were born in the UK, but may not be British. We would like to encourage anyone living in Dorset to come forward with questions about the scheme, and to ask for advice or assistance.

The EU Settlement Scheme project team at Citizens Advice BCP can be reached at [email protected]. We are offering assistance to residents of BCP and Dorset.
