The session is aimed at:

  • small or medium sizes charities or social enterprises
  • that do not have a dedicated Human Resources team
  • and will typically have a turnover of less than £1 million pounds per year

This session is not intended for qualified Human Resources professionals or staff of larger organisations.

About Sonia:

Sonia is an experienced HR professional specialising in supporting small charities and social enterprises with their people issues. Sonia has over 30 years’ experience of HR management in the charity/social enterprise, research, higher education and local government sectors. In addition, Sonia has served as a charity trustee, advisory board member of a large social enterprise and volunteer mediator.

For the last ten years, Sonia has run Populo, a social enterprise (, to help small charities and social enterprises to better manage their people - improving confidence and peace of mind and allowing these organisations to make a greater impact for good in their communities. She has supported over 350 small charities and social enterprises.
