Carer Support Dorset was commissioned by Dorset Council as the Lead Carer Organisation and was launched in November 2019. We are seeking to employ a proactive and motivated Community Engagement Officer who will strengthen our relationships with organisations across Dorset. You will be working as part of a team and proactively engaging with organisations to create clear referral and signposting pathways to and from services. Your role will also include delivering carer awareness sessions.

As Community Engagement Officer, you will have a positive attitude, confidence, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team. Other essential skills and experience include:

Experience of previous community engagement work

An understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures

Knowledge of carers’ issues and rights

Multiagency working, including liaising with other agencies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in the use of IT and databases to manage time effectively, prioritise workload and record information

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that the successful candidate has a full driving licence, with access to a car for work purposes.
